An older, mixed area
Central Irving mixes older homes, apartments and townhomes, rental properties and commercial storefronts. Several distinct places are worth keeping straight: Historic Downtown Irving and Main Street, the original commercial core; the broader Heritage District around it; Heritage Park, which preserves historic structures of its own; and the Irving Heritage House, a separate historic property maintained by the Irving Heritage Society. The City has invested in redevelopment around downtown and the DART station, which shows up as older properties being renovated and small businesses moving in and out.
Not every property here is historic. Some older properties may involve narrower doors, detached garages or construction details that differ from newer homes, and we plan for that when we see photos.

Planning an older-home or storefront cleanout
Say whether the job is at a home, rental or storefront, then list the main items or debris. For an older home, photograph narrow doorways and include detached-garage or shed contents if they are part of the scope. A furniture pickup and a whole-property clear-out need different estimates, even when they share the same address.
For renovation debris, describe what your contractor has already removed, the material types and where the pile is staged. Flag paint, chemicals or suspected asbestos instead of mixing them into standard debris. Rental owners should include the turnover deadline and separate retained items from contents approved for removal. Storefront managers can identify the loading entrance, permitted work hours and any fixtures that remain. Photos of the space and access path help plan the carry-out without assuming every older building has the same layout.
